Investment Accounting Overview
Investment Accounting is a shared services team responsible for U.S. GAAP and statutory accounting and reporting for Genworth’s investment portfolio. The team works closely with Finance partners across different business areas and supports investment-related activities.
Role Summary
As a member of the Fixed Income Accounting team, you will support the preparation and review of accounting processes to help ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP and statutory requirements. This role involves working with accounting systems, performing reconciliations, and assisting with routine accounting tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Review system-generated reports to help ensure accurate accounting for fixed income investments
Assist with transaction processing and account reconciliations
Prepare basic accounting tasks such as journal entries, monthly reconciliations, and data analysis
Support income and asset allocation processes and pricing analysis
Follow established procedures and assist with SOX control requirements
Support the preparation of internal and external financial reports
Help identify and resolve discrepancies or issues in data and processes
Learn and apply accounting guidance with support from senior team members
Assist in improving workflows and identifying opportunities for efficiency
Complete additional tasks and projects as assigned
