Alphanumeric Systems | Long-term Pharmaceutical Client

Alphanumeric is hiring an Epidemiologist to support our global pharmaceutical client of 20+ years, dedicated to advancing innovative therapies and improving patient outcomes worldwide. 

Pay Rate: $55-$61/hour (W2)
No third-party candidates or agencies. Must be eligible to work on Alphanumeric W2.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advance disease understanding to support drug development, including:
    • Incidence, prevalence, risk factors, and natural history.
    • Treatment patterns, comorbidities, and co-medications.
    • Outcomes, phenotypes, biomarkers, and unmet medical needs.
    • Variations across demographics and geographic regions.
  • Support clinical development by:
    • Defining target populations.
    • Contributing to protocol design.
    • Supporting patient recruitment strategies.
      Ensuring accurate patient medical history data collection.
  • Contribute to safety and risk evaluation, including:
    • Background event rate estimation.
    • Evidence synthesis (including meta-analyses).
    • Identification of high-risk patient populations.
  • Support post-marketing surveillance, including:
    • Risk evaluation and mitigation strategies (REMS).
    • Signal detection and epidemiologic investigations.
    • Post-authorization safety and effectiveness studies.
  • Generate and interpret real-world evidence by:
    • Designing and executing epidemiologic research plans and protocols.
    • Analyzing large healthcare databases.
    • Critically evaluating published literature and internal data.

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of epidemiology experience in:
    • Pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
    • Academic or government research setting.
  • Proven experience applying epidemiologic methods to support:
    • Drug safety and effectiveness.
    • Natural history of disease.
    • Clinical development programs.
  • Demonstrated success leading pharmacoepidemiology research initiatives.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex scientific findings clearly to:
    • Cross-functional teams.
    • Senior stakeholders.
    • Scientific audiences (publications, conferences).

Education:
  • PhD in Epidemiology (preferred) or related field:
    • Public Health.
    • Health Outcomes Research.
    • Health Services Research.
    • Biostatistics or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
