Alphanumeric is hiring an IT TECHNICIAN - Level 3 Tech Infrastructure Support Engineer to work in Marietta, PA with our client of 20 years committed to improving lives through medical and pharmaceutical advancements.
Pay Range: $40 - $43.50
Key Responsibilities:
1. Install, rack, stack, cable, and decommission IT infrastructure (servers, network, storage, industrial IT equipment) within manufacturing plant, data room, and shop-floor environments, following site safety and operational constraints.
2. Perform structured copper and fiber cabling, patching, labeling, and physical QA across plant facilities, control rooms, labs, and data rooms in compliance with plant and corporate standards.
3. Provide on-site operational support for physical IT infrastructure, including break/fix, incident response, preventive maintenance, and support during planned maintenance windows and shutdowns.
4. Collaborate with global IT and engineering teams to review infrastructure designs, validate plant readiness (space, power, cooling, access), and adapt enterprise designs to manufacturing site realities.
5. Coordinate closely with Facilities, Engineering, EHS, and Security teams to ensure infrastructure work aligns with plant safety rules, production schedules, and access controls.
6. Manage vendors and contractors on-site, including scheduling work, supervising installations, validating deliverables, and ensuring adherence to plant safety and quality standards.
7. Review vendor quotes and bills of materials (BOMs) for technical accuracy, compatibility with plant standards, and fit for industrial environments.
8. Receive, stage, label, deploy, and track hardware assets, maintaining accurate inventory and lifecycle records for plant-based IT infrastructure.
9. Support infrastructure projects and changes at the plant site, including execution of approved changes, coordination with stakeholders, and handover to operations.
10. Maintain accurate documentation and as-built records, including rack layouts, cabling diagrams, asset records, and site readiness documentation to support audits and compliance.
Key Skills/Experience/Education:
Hands-on experience with enterprise network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, Wi‑Fi) in manufacturing or industrial environments.
Experience supporting Layer 2/3 networking, VLANs, trunking, and physical network troubleshooting.
* Field experience with structured cabling systems (copper and fiber), patch panels, labeling, and testing.
* Experience working in manufacturing plants, factories, or industrial sites with active production environments.
* Familiarity with IT/OT coexistence and supporting IT infrastructure near or within operational technology (OT) zones.
* Hands-on experience with servers, virtualization platforms, and storage systems deployed on-site.
* Experience with power, cooling, UPS, PDUs, and space planning in plant IT rooms or data rooms.
* Proven experience coordinating vendors, installers, and service providers in live plant environments.
* Experience reviewing hardware quotes, BOMs, and technical specifications.
* Strong operational discipline around change management, documentation, and safety compliance
The person should have experience with understanding network design, installing server, switches and storage hardware. Experience with racking and stacking and troubleshooting. The role will require working with teams based around the world and consolidate the requirement.
